The last years many different kinds of applications for digital scrap booking has become available in the shops. You can use a lot of software programs for this purpose. Quite a few scrappers favor applications much like Photoshop or Photoshop Elements. When you first open the My Memories Suite, you will see a left and a right sidebar and the work area between them. And furthermore there is a tool bar at the top. At the first glanze they seem quite similar, but they certainly have different options. You use the left sidebar to browse your images and to access the web store to purchase new kits. The right sidebar is the control panel. Although you may can include both images and elements from both sidebars, the right one is where you can add effects such as shadows, bevels and even music!

With My Memories Suite you can basically be as creative as you desire. You can create each page like it was a piece of art, add lots of embellishments and fancy titles. But you may also use the automated functions of the software. You can pick a predesigned album, and then use the autofill function to include your photographs. Whether or not you use autofill you can return and edit each page till you're pleased with them. Anyone knows how annoying it is to get a photobook back from a printer with spelling mistakes. My Memories Suite has a spell checker function, maybe one of the most useful functions about the software.

Sometimes I am a little narrow minded. I remember reading an overview of another scrapbook software in Macworld not long ago. And the one who wrote this review listed pros and cons, and one of the drawbacks was that he couldn't add music to the pages. And I thought….hellooo….we make scrapbooks, we don't expect to hear Holiday with Scorpions once we open our vacation scrapbook.

Well, actually this is a awesome function. Instead of sending your album around for everyone to admire after a family dinner, you could just put a dvd in your player and show the whole book on your big flatscreen tv for everyone to see. With My Memories suite you can do all this. You can have a dvd ordered with your printed scrapbook if you like AND you can include video snippets inside the scrapbook pages, and also music.
